| So far, work at Sears is coming along well. Last Friday, I was assigned a register to use on my own and have been trying to familiarize myself and get comfortable with using it. Most transactions are easy for me to handle such as regular purchases, returns, exchanges, and some other things. I still have yet to complete any credit applications and, though we get a very small commission from them, I'm not exactly killing myself over getting customers to try to apply for them. (A) I don't like pushing customers since I myself don't like being pushed and (B) we have to get 5 credit apps in a month even to be paid for them, and it's $2 per credit app, I think. Again, it's a very small commission. If I do manage to get 5 or more in a month, then yay, I'm happy about it. But if I don't, it's not exactly gonna keep me from sleeping at night. Other than that, I'm learning by doing and by asking others for help when needed. I think (and I hope!) that I'll be happy with this job for a while.
In other news, I went earlier this afternoon to pay some more on the headboard and bed frame that Pedro and I have on layaway. I can't wait to pay it off completely and to have it here in our bedroom to use. Once we have it, I'll finally put the bed skirt on so it won't drag on the floor as it would if I put it on now.
Malachai is improving each and every day. I'm so happy about the fact that he not only has more energy (and a lot of it!), but we can't feel his rib cage and other bones anymore. He's getting quite better at eating and he's fattening up well. He's even gotten to the point of having so much energy that he chases after and plays with Boo and has similar spastic qualities that Hunter has. He's almost constantly bouncing about and darting like the ferret. It's so cute to watch.
Oh, before I forget, I'm so happy and proud of Jamar!! He got the job at Brooks (and rather quickly, too.....that bastard) and he starts working third shift tonight. From what we understand, within a couple of weeks, he'll be promoted to Assistant Manager!!! I truly hope and pray that this comes to pass because that store needs a lot of organizing and I think that some of the associates need better attitudes when servicing customers. Yay for Jamarmaru!!! ::showers him in confetti::
Ok, I'm gonna go for now and hang out with the boys at least until Terri wakes up so we can go food shopping and get some laundry done. - Mood:thankful

| We finally got the new bed-in-a-bag set today and it's GORGEOUS!!!! I want so much to put it on the bed now, but Pedro thought it best that we wait until we get the head board and bed frame that we have on layaway at Myers. I agree with him that it's best to wait until then.
::keeps looking over at the package and admiring it::

| Doing the balancing act between two jobs can be a tedious thing to do, but so far, I'm managing ok (albeit the real work will be taking effect in the next day or so since I've just wrapped up shadowing at Sears and will be set out on my own). I asked both of my managers if I could have every Tuesday off and they had no problem with that. So, at least, I'll be able to rest, have some time to myself, and take care of business outside of work once a week. Working two jobs in one day at times will be exhausting and hard, but I'll deal with it. After all, I have to make rent, bills, etc. somehow, right? Besides, I don't wanna let Pedro, Terri, and Jamar down. I wanna do all that I can to help not only myself, but them as well.
Last night, all of us (with the exception of Pedro since he worked all day and was very understandably tired) went to the Roxy to see Sicko. After two hours of the disgusting truth being shoved in our faces, we walked out of the theater feeling absolute horror at what our government has been doing to its people and is continuing to do....but also with the hope of jumping ship and better our lives in the future. Terri and I shed many tears during the documentary and with damn good reason. It is exceedingly hard for me to be proud of being an American. In certain, small ways, I am....but when it comes to our government, our health care (or, should I say, sick care?) system, the arrogance of some of our people (most definitely our government!), and certain issues which I had to deal with growing up in the Deep South, I'm not proud; not at all.
For anyone who has any inkling of caring about current events, both in this country and around the world, please....please.....PLEASE go see this documentary. It is well worth the price of admission and beyond.
And now, I'm gonna go and get dressed, have a bite to eat with my baby, and go to work.
P.S. Being on my period sucks. - Mood:contemplative

| 1. Lately, I've been keeping an eye on this eBay auction for a beautiful, complete bed-in-a-bag that is VERY cheap. For those of you who don't really know, bed-in-a-bags usually range anywhere from $100 to $300, depending upon the style, material, brand name, etc. and sometimes they don't even include the fitted and/or top sheets! But the one that I'm currently bidding on has everything necessary and the bid right now is at $20.50 with the shipping priced at $11.79. Though I still have a couple of days left to wait til the auction is closed, I'm hoping so much that I'll win. Also, in connection to this, Pedro and I went earlier today to Myers New and Used Furniture and took a look at a used headboard and bed frame. It's simple in design, a wee bit scuffed up, but perfectly usable. The headboard was $50 and the bed frame's a mere $25. So, I asked my baby's opinion of it and he was immediately sold. We now have it on layaway and I'm looking forward to paying it off in the weeks to come. ::Cabbit squeal of delight::
2. Going to Sears in an attempt to finish up my computer training was pretty much in vain. After 2 hours of fighting with the SLOW ASS computer system, I finally gave up. I talked with my boss and he said that I can begin shadowing on the sales floor this week, but it is preferable to complete my computer training as soon as possible. I know that getting through every lesson isn't the problem; it's the loading of said lessons on the computer that's truly the obstacle to overcome. Goddamn....and I thought my mom's dial-up was bad!
3. I just now called Jamar's house and I'm almost 100% sure that he missed the train to Essex Junction. ::sighs:: Lazy bastard. Why did I have the feeling that something like this would happen?
Anyway, more random shit at a later time. - Mood:aggravated
